How to get listed in Google in 24 to 48 hours

You can take two approaches to getting listed in the search engines, one can take 6 to 8 weeks, and the other can take as little as 24 hours.

The first approach is to manually submit your website to the search engines by submitting your url and a brief description of the website. This can take some time, but you will eventually be indexed. I generally submit the sites I work on to the big 3 (Google, Yahoo, MSN or LiveSearch), but I also try to rush the indexing process.

The fastest way to get you website indexed is to create a blog post and ping that post, or make a comment on a highly ranking blog or forum (without spamming, stick around and revisit frequently). Blog services like WordPress and Blogger work great because they automatically ping each post as you create them. Leaving comments on blogs and forums may be a pain because some forums have “nofollow” tags, or require you to make a minimum number of posts before your link is visible.

Don’t get scammed into thinking that getting your website indexed in the major search engines is a major feat, anyone with a bit of time and initiative can do it.

Goatsmilktavern Studios web design encourages all of our customers to create and maintain weblogs. Blogs are a great way to to add fresh content to your site that will keep the search engines coming back for more.
